I like artist books

A limited edition, 5-color Risograph folded poster, designed and printed for the 2022 Detroit Art Book Fair. It features Pat Steir’s explanation of why she likes artist books, as published in Art Rite No. 14 (1976).
Inspired by a description of Laurie Anderson’s quintessential “Midwesterness” that Sam Anderson attributes to the artist and musician in his 2021 New York Times Magazine profile, Steir’s definition is extended to include four of Anderson’s traits, which hold a certain resonance with artist books.
